Start of the Erasmus+ project "BMW - Be More Wise".

On Friday 8 December 2023, a special event will take place at our university. Despite the fact that the year is almost over, we do not slow down and start with a new project created by dr hab. Izabela Zając-Gawlak. The University Palackého v Olomouci and UTW Łazy as project partners also play an important role in the creation and success of the project.

The aim of the project is to promote the role of senior leaders from the University of the Third Age (educators, retired PE teachers and coaches and all those interested in adult education) in the education of students of the University of the Third Age, as well as to create new solutions for conducting physical activities to prevent falls of the elderly.

The project has an international character and was created within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme in the Adult Education sector.

The project will proceed as follows:
The education of seniors on fall prevention will include participation in the process of creating the handbook "Practice and keep your balance and you will be able to do more". Seniors will participate in a series of training activities using juggling exercises that will last 12 weeks. Participants will present the exercises and participate in a photo session and video recordings (which will be attached to the manual in the form of a QR code) to illustrate the exercises.

The goal that Dr. hab. Izabela Zając-Gawlak assumed that the project will be implemented through the preparation of a manual containing a training program, which will serve as a compendium of knowledge needed to carry out movement workshops and theoretical classes providing the most important information on fall prevention among seniors through exercises focused on improving coordination in order to prevent falls.
